We often think our ancestors--those who lived before us and created the families to which we belong--were rather like paper dolls--flat, uninteresting, inanimate, not real. My goal with this blog is to give those people lives by telling their stories. Some had more interesting stories than others, some left more information about themselves than others. Some left nothing behind except their names and the stories have to be found through intense interest and research efforts. Those with a lot of information I will tell in a series of stories rather than overload with everything at once. My goal is to make them as interesting as possible and still tell only the truth--if they were scoundrels, so what. If they were angels--they probably don't belong in my family.
I also plan to illustrate those stories with photos, maps, drawings, etc. as much as possible. I am always willing to entertain serious questions, polite & respectful comments, and documented additional information if you will contact me by email. I may publish weekly, I may publish sporadically, it all depends on what is going on and what I have available. I am also hoping this will be picked up by search engines & someone else who is related to the ancestors will find the blog & offer more information or at least gain information that they've not known before.
Stay tuned for the next post!
